Message from the Director
Daktari Animal Hospital 院長 加藤元
Daktari animal hospital was found in 1965 in Zenpukuji Suginami-word Tokyo as the predecessor of the first animal hospital built upon the idea of the “Human-Animal Bond”, caring from small birds to elephants, open 24 hours every day. Doctors from Daktari Animal Hospitals have spread all over the country and have built a network consisting of 19 Daktari Animal Hospitals. The center hospital moved to Kugayama in 1969, and to Hiroo in 1992. The idea was taken over to every branch hospital, and all the staff have been carrying out “bond centered practice” based on Human-Animal Bond. We aim for the advanced veterinary medicine in accordance with a progress of veterinary medicine in the world.
Especially catching up with the most advanced veterinary medicine in the United State, we have been making effort to function as a group of medical specialists in each discipline. Our veterinary staff all believe in the biggest medical rule “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.
Our animals live in world where time passes 4 times faster. This means that a even a simple check up every 3 months for our dogs and cats (same frequency calculated as a annual check-up for humans) is valuable to detect early disease, especially for over 7 year old animals. Because our furry friends cannot use word to explain their sate and condition, it is very important for us hospital staff and you to build a good trusting relationship, communication and informed consents.
We hope to work as a wholeheartedly as a team with you to fulfill your needs and for the precious human animal bond.
